Caldwell 23 (NGC 891), an edge-on unbarred spiral galaxy located in the constellation Andromeda. It is also known by nicknames such as the "Silver Sliver Galaxy" or the "Outer Limits Galaxy"
- Location and Distance: Located in the constellation Andromeda, Caldwell 23 is approximately 30 million light-years from Earth.
- Appearance: Viewed edge-on, the galaxy shows a prominent dust lane.
- Size: It is estimated to span 100,000 to 120,000 light-years and contain around 500 billion stars.
- Discovery: William Herschel discovered it on October 6, 1784.
